QUANTICO AND DOLLARS FOR SCHOLARS® CHAPTER 2010 SCHOLARSHIP COMPETITION

The Quantico Chapter of the National Officers Association in conjunction with Dollars for Scholars® is continuing our annual effort towards enhancing educational opportunities for graduating area high school seniors. The Chapter intends to award scholarships in various amounts to graduating high school seniors who reside in the Prince William, Stafford, and Spotsylvania county areas, as well as MCB Quantico, and the city of Fredericksburg who have demonstrated academic achievement. Scholarship recipients are selected without any obligation to join or affiliate themselves with the military services.   Students who are awarded scholarships may be eligible to receive a matching scholarship from the institution they plan to attend if the institution is a Dollars for Scholars® matching partner.  More information about Dollars for Scholars® program can be found at the link to the right.

Applications and the Financial Assistance Questionnaire MUST be postmaked by April 12, 2010.

Details of Award.

The award is designed to support the student during their college freshman year. To claim the award, the recipient must enroll full-time at a two- or four-year accredited college or university, and submit verification of enrollment to the Quantico Chapter Scholarship Committee by August 15, 2010. Requests for funds after that date will not be honored.

Eligibility Requirements

  1. Student must be a U.S. Citizen or permanent resident.
  2. Student must be accepted, or planning to enroll, full-time in the fall of 2010 in an undergraduate program of studies leading to a Bachelor’s Degree at an accredited college or university.
  3. Student must have a minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 2.5 (based on a 4.0 scale) to meet the minimum requirements.

Please fill out the Quantico NNOA Dollars For Scholars Application and Financial Assistance Questionnaire and mail to the address below by April 12, 2010. DO NOT WORRY ABOUT THE NNOA SIGNATURE. WE will sign once we receive the package.
